Greenwood Physiotherapy
Private physiotherapy clinic in Nottingham specialising in the lower limb
Recover from your injury and take back control
My main focus is to provide a clear understandable diagnosis and to help you achieve your aims and goals.
This may be high level sport, a weekly kick about with your friends, returning to work or simply walking to the shops. Whatever goal you want to achieve we will make an achievable step by step plan.
My treatment bias is always towards self-management which means I want to give you the tools to help yourself. This is because I believe that the body has a remarkable ability to heal itself but sometimes might need the right input and guidance.
Sports physiotherapy
Getting early and accurate advice is key after an injury
Its very frustrating when injury stops you playing the sport you love, whatever level your at. I have 15 years experience of getting people back on the pitch. Through early and accurate diagnosis, I can help set you on the right path quickly. This will enable you to return to sport safely and avoid any secondary problems down the line.
Am I ready to return to sport?
This is a question I get asked a lot and it can be a difficult physical and mental hurdle to overcome. I have collaborated with orthopaedic surgeons and have written post-op rehabilitation protocols on a number of surgical procedures including a functional return to sport criteria. I will run through a series of physical tests with you which will help determine if you are ready to return to sport after an injury or operation.
Pain for a long time?
Chronic pain can have a devastating impact on your life and make you feel like there is no end in sight. But a good understanding of your condition and a few self management tools can start to turn things around for you. For example osteoarthritis is an often misunderstood diagnosis and is usually a part of the body’s normal aging process. It does not necessarily mean that you will need to stop doing the things you enjoy. In fact, if you are able to continue with an active lifestyle and manage flare ups appropriately then your outcome is likely to be much more positive.
A persons experience of pain and disability is variable and even when you have been told you have osteoarthritis this does not necessarily mean you will go on to have a joint replacement. I can help you understand the physical and mental processes that contribute to having pain for a long time, help you manage your flare ups and then start to take positive steps towards improving your physical health.
If you would like to discuss if physiotherapy is right for you then don’t hesitate to contact me either by phone or email.
The facilities
The facilities at the Fulcrum Performance Hub include a private consultation room and a fully equipped strength and conditioning suite. The space can be used as part of your exercise based treatment programme. Whatever level of physical fitness you have it is likely you will benefit from some form of strength training and the room can also be used as part of a supervised exercise rehabilitation package. This can be discussed during your initial assessment.
